ENGLISH TRANSLATION
There was fear of violence both at home and abroad on the Nigerian Presidential and other Elections, but thank God, the day has come and gone without any terrible violence as anticipated. The people have elected General Muhammadu Buhari as the new President to take over from the incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) that has ruled for sixteen years, boasted that they will rule for fifty years because they are the largest party in Africa. One of the Yoruba proverbs that said “Extracting the palm kernel is not an easy task”, can be applied to unseating an incumbent, particularly, unseating an incumbent in Africa is not an easy task. According to this proverb, it is well known that African Politicians find it very difficult to hand over power. If it is possible, they would rather die as incumbent than hand over, because they are not serving the people.
Another Yoruba adage meaning “In unity we stand”, was proven in the last election, because without the gallant effort of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu in galvanizing the many opposition parties together, his staunch support and encouragement of General Muhammadu Buhari to contest Presidential election the fourth time, people’s desire for “Change” would not have manifested.

I love to speak Yoruba language,at times when you are speaking in English the real meaning may not be understood ,especially when you are giving advice or trying to tell someone about life .
You have spoken well, most often the meaning is lost in translating to other languages.
