ENGLISH TRANSLATION
According to one of the Yoruba proverbs translated thus “fire is succeeded by ashes, plantain/banana is replaced by its fruits”. This proverb reflects the hope Yoruba placed on their children. Death is unavoidable by everyone, however, the death of one’s child is often a terrible bereavement for the parents of the deceased particularly the death of an adult child. On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, the news of the death of Jide Tinubu the first son of the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was announced.
May God put an end to the death of adult children and console the father of the deceased, former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his wife and children as well as the entire family. May the Mighty one save the youth from untimely death and console everyone that is bereaved.
