Ipinlẹ̀ Orilẹ̀ Edè Nigeria – States in Nigeria

À ṣe kágbá Idibò ni orilẹ̀ èdè Nigeria yio wáyé ni ọjọ́ Àbámẹ́ta, ọjọ́ Kọkọ̀nlá, oṣù kẹrin ọdún Ẹgbãlémẹ̃dógún, lati yan Gómìnà àti àwọn Aṣòfin Ipinlẹ̀ mẹrindinlọ́gbọ̀n.

A dúpẹ́ pé ilú jade lati dibò yan Olóri Òṣèlú àti àwọn Aṣòfin-àgbà lai mú ijà dáni bi gbogbo ilú ti bẹ̀rù pé yio ri oṣù tó kọjá. Yorùbá sọ wi pé “Ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ kọ́ ló niṣẹ́” a fi ọ̀rọ̀ yi rọ ará ilú pé ki wọn tu jade lati dibò nitori Ìjọba àpapọ̀ kò súnmọ́ ará ilú bi ti Gómìnà àti Aṣòfin Ipinlẹ̀, ki wọn lè jẹ èrè Ìjọba Alágbádá.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

In Nigeria, the final day of election is coming up on Saturday, eleventh day of April, Two thousand and fifteen, to elect Governors and State Legislators in thirty-six States.

Nigerians are grateful that people trooped out last month to cast their votes to elect the President, Senators and Federal Legislators without serious violence as people feared it would be. Federal Government is not as close to the grass root like the Governors and the State Legislators hence, one of the Yoruba adage meaning “The race is not for the swift” is being used to encourage people to come out massively to cast their votes so that the people can enjoy the benefits of Democracy.
